South Middleton Community Cats (SMCC) has partnered with South Middleton Township, and The Nobody’s Cat’s Foundation (TNCF) to offer free vouchers for spay and neuter of South Middleton community cats while funding for the program lasts. To be eligible for the vouchers, residents must attend a TNR Basics workshop conducted by the Nobody’s Cats Foundation, or approved online training. See our EVENTS page for upcoming trainings.
Once confirmation of attendance is recorded by emailing a copy of class completion certificate, SMCC will work with residents to set up a schedule to TNR. Residents who are comfortable with the process and have completed training may also reach out to TNCF to schedule their own appointments through THIS LINK and contact SMCC to receive a voucher if that is all that is needed.
SMT has a limited number of traps at the Township Municipal building for residents to use in their TNR efforts. Please reach out to the Township to reserve one at 717 258 5324.
If a resident is interested in TNR but has not attended a training, SMCC will work with them to help facilitate the TNR at the expense of the resident.
Common costs associated are:
TNCF spot without voucher $40
York County SPCA walk ins $20-$30 depending on services
Harrisburg Humane Society $50
Adams County SPCA $45
Residents may be asked about pre- and post-surgery accommodations for the cats and may be responsible for transporting them to their appointments. Each colony is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Residents who are interested in becoming eligible for vouchers will be put on a waiting list and notified of the next available training(s).
The timing of TNR appointments will vary, and preference is given to those residents who have attended a TNR basics training.
